What is the My Safe Florida Home Program?

The My Safe Florida Home Program is an initiative funded by the state of Florida, aimed at helping homeowners fortify their homes against the extreme weather conditions that Florida often faces, particularly hurricanes.


The program has received an additional $200 million in funding for the new fiscal year, allowing thousands of Florida homeowners to make crucial upgrades with the help of certified contractors.

Eligibility and Participation:

To take advantage of the MSFH grants, homeowners must work with a contractor licensed and certified with the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Eligible contractors include:

  • Building contractors
  • Residential contractors
  • Specialty contractors
  • Roofing contractors


Important Note: County-only licenses are not accepted for reimbursable program work under the MSFH guidelines.
